Walking the line

Isn’t it amazing that you can live with something all of your life and never really see what’s been under your nose all along?

For some reason I live in a place called Cleethorpes and not far from my house is the meridian line. Here are a few facts about it;

The meridian line is where east meets west in a universal time zone. GMT was originally set-up to aid naval navigation when the globe started to open up with the discovery of the "New World" (America) in the fifteenth Century.

The Royal Observatory at Greenwich is in Greenwich Park along with the National Maritime Museum and the Queens House (on which the White House in Washington DC, USA is based). For information on astronomy visit Greenwich Star

And here are some pic’s.
